It's that time of year again: awards season.
And tonight is the mother of all award shows: The Oscars.
We've all heard the buzz about favorites and movies that got cheated,
but the fashion at the Oscars is unbeatable.
The stars come out in nothing less than the best, including but not limited to Alexander McQueen, Valentino, Gucci, and Oscar de la Renta.
But since I'm on a college kid allowance, I figured I'd show you how you can get an Oscar look without the Oscar budget.
This dress is from Urban Outfitters. It has a very modern cutout back with Michael Jackson-esque shoulder details. Plus it only cost $20 on sale!
(I'm telling you people, clearance is key.)
These earrings are Forever 21.
They're not only sparkly, but they're light on the ears, unlike many chandelier earrings.
(Once again, clearance! Only $4.)
Ring = Charming Charlie's = $5
The dress above is from JCPenney's.
It has a very classic, Old Hollywood feel to it with the pleated skirt,
but the sequined top brings it back into the 21st century.
$40
Lastly, this dress is also from JCPenney's.
It's MNG by Mango and it was $15.
Come on people, you can't beat that.
It's simple, classy, and elegant.
Throw on a strand of pearls and you've got yourself a fun and flirty ensemble.
The Oscars (and other events like it) are all about class,
so keep away from the hooker heels and risqué see-through gowns,
and you'll be just fine.
My favorites to win are as follows:
Les Miserables
Hugh Jackman
Jennifer Lawrence
Anne Hathaway
Also, I absolutely loved The Hobbit!!
Honestly, I didn't make the effort to see all of the films nominated,
but I absolutely loved the ones I did see.
I will eventually see all of them, I hope.
favorite moment, and favorites to win!
